What is Klinik

What is Klinik?

Klinik Access is an online consultation service and appointment solution for that makes it possible for our patients to contact us from a computer, a smartphone, or a tablet through the GP practice website.

Our reception team also have access to Klinik and if you telephone the practice you will be taken through the same questions and triage system that our online users will experience.

You will almost certainly find is quicker to ask your question online rather than waiting to speak to one of the reception team.

 

Do I need any login or credentials for using the service? Do I need to register to be able to use the service?

Using the service does not require login or registration. We have chosen this approach to make the service quick and easy-to-use. The service uses a highly secure one-direction communications connection, which, according to the regulations, does not require strong authentication.

 

What can I use Klinik for?

You can use Klinik to seek self-help, request an appointment, request test results, raise enquiries about your medication, request repeat prescriptions and much more.

For some aspects of Klinik, such as requesting repeat medication, you will be directed to your secure SystmOnline account so please ensure you are signed up for that service to make your online experience smoother.

 

Appointment System

Appointments may be made by telephoning or by visiting the practice during core surgery opening hours (08:00 - 18:30 Monday to Friday). 

Alternatively you may book online via the link at the top of this page. A number of appointments will be made available each day for online booking and will be accessible to patients. Please note only the practice can issue user names and passwords.

Patients may visit the practice and be issued with a user name and a password from the front desk staff.  Please note you will need to bring ID with you at the time of request.

When requesting an appointment you will be asked whether your need is urgent. If you consider you need to be urgent you will be asked to provide information about your concerns to the receptionist.  We will not be able to progress your call further without you providing this requested information.

If your need is urgent you will be contacted by someone from the Duty Team.  The Doctors retain clinical resposibility for your care however contact will be from the most suitably skilled member of our practice team as defined by your need.

If your need is not urgent your request will be passed to the Routine Team.  Again, the Doctors retain clinical resposibility for your care however contact will be from the most suitably skilled member of our practice team as defined by your need.

Routine Appointments (bookable in advance)

When requesting a routine, non-urgent appointment the receptionist will   endeavour to accommodate your preference for timescale and timing. 

You will be asked a series of questions regaring your need to ensure your request is dealt with by the most suitably skilled member of the practice team. 

The Doctors retain clinical responsibility for your care but it will not always be a Doctor that you consult with.

 

Types of Appointment

We can manage your needs through a variety of communication methods:

  • Face to face Consultations
  • Video Consultations
  • Telephone Consultations
  • Email

The method of communication will be determined using a combination of your personal circumstances, your need and clinical appropriateness.

Teaching

Our Practice participates in the advanced training of well qualified doctors who may specialise in General Practice. The additional doctor(s) works with us for up to one year and share in all aspects of general medical care in liaison with the partners.

Also, occasionally we have medical students in the Practice; you will always be informed about such attachments.

Home Visits

Patients are requested to telephone before 11am if a home visit is required that day.

We request that wherever possible patients attend the surgery rather than request a home visit because of the extra time home visiting takes. On average four to five patients can be seen in surgery in the time it takes to do a single house call.

Home Visits are carried out by various members of the practice team, but always by the most suitably skilled clinician for the patient’s need.

Please note that the clinician may telephone you rather than visit you if this is medically appropriate. Ultimately it is the clinician’s right to decide whether or not a visit is appropriate for a particular set of circumstances.

Cancel an Appointment

It is important that you inform the reception staff if you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient.

If you fail to notify the Practice that you are unable to attend, you may be a letter, text or email informing you that you have defaulted from your appointment. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list.

Text Reminder Service

We have a texting service which allows you to receive confirmation and reminders about your appointments.

To have this service you will need to register by completing a consent form.

Please remember to update your contact details with us when you change address, telephone numbers and email address.

Patients registered with a GP practice in Milton Keynes now have more access to General Practice appointments at times to suit you.

There are early morning, evening and weekend appointments available across Milton Keynes for a range of services. Services available include:

  • GP Appointments
  • Blood Tests
  • Physio Assessments
  • Minor Illnesses

How do I get an appointment?

Appointments will be at one of the HUB practices in Milton Keynes. These are:
